Leadership Lessons- 5
Leadership involves the ability and skills to deal with different kinds of people. People are of different temperament, with different expectations, with different language and with different attitude.
Everyone one will have positive and negative qualities. Each of us have a mix of different qualities and it is indeed natural for all human beings.
The lesson that I have learned is to focus on the positive qualities of a human being
Those with good leadership focus on the positives and and help people to get over their limitations in a gentle way.
When I have to deal with a human being, I consider and assess the overall qualities of the person. If the person has more than sixty percent of positive qualities, I would engage with them- and slowly work with them to harness their positive energies.
The magic of human beings is that once they begin to work on their positive energies , it is possible to gently get over their limitations or even negative qualities.
However, if I find someone with less than forty percent of the positive quality, I usually keep them at a distance as often such people tend to exude negative energy or negative qualities. Usually those who find fault with everybody and everything, except themselves, tend to exude negative energy. Those who are only capable of findings faults and problems, without suggesting solutions tend to be more negative. Many of them are usually bitter too.
However, most of the people will have more than sixty percent of positive qualities. And encouraging and supporting those positive qualities help them to contribute and help themselves to realize the need to transform their negative qualities.
Good leadership exude positive energies, optimism and induce positive energy to all those work with them. This also make them to look at the positive aspects of people.
In all people, you get what you look for. If you are positive to them and if you smile at them, they too smile and they too become positive.
It is such positive energies of lots of people that make change happen.
